Sara Black
Installation Artist
Black is an installation artist and teacher living in Chicago. She works collaboratively with the artist group Material Exchange and is one of the collective owners of the artist-run café and social center Backstory on the South Side of Chicago. A resident of Chicago for six years, Black received her MFA from The University of Chicago in 2006, and is currently teaching performance art and sculpture at Northwestern University and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Her work has been exhibited in Chicago at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Hyde Park Art Center, the Betty Rymer Gallery, Gallery 400, Columbia College's A +D Gallery, and the Smart Museum of Art. Her work has also been exhibited in Michigan, New York, California, Massachusetts, Ohio, Oregon, Wisconsin, as well as Quebec and Ontario.
