Uninterrupted Time and Space for Artists The 3Arts Residency Fellowships acknowledge the need for uninterrupted time and space in the art-making process. Artists producing high quality, distinctive work in the disciplines of music, theater, or visual arts will receive a 2-week residency and enjoy time and space away from the constraints of daily life to focus on their creative labor and production. 3Arts has has established Residency Fellowships with the Ragdale Foundation to support residencies for underrepresented Chicago artists. Ragdale is situated 30 miles north of Chicago in Lake Forest, Illinois, in a protected prairie setting. Residents are given space in which to create and work in peace until the evening meal, when they come together to share their ideas and present their work. In addition to covering all residency costs, this grant will offer each artist a stipend to compensate for time away from work and residency-related expenses. Artists are selected through a nomination and jury process overseen by Ragdale. No unsolicited applications are accepted. |
