Shining the Spotlight on Artists Our Special Projects program supports efforts that advocate for Chicago artists through the sponsorship of public events, projects, and program series that promote the work of artists in the fields of music, theater, and/or visual arts. We do not wish to limit applicants regarding the scope or content of projects, and welcome a wide array of proposals as long as the proposed events, projects, and program series are aligned with the mission, vision, and values of our organization. A typical grant request may be anywhere from $2,500 to $10,000. For requests above that amount, please contact 3Arts before submitting a letter of intent. Funding for the Special Projects program is based on the organization’s financial performance and is therefore determined on an annual basis. How to Apply: 3Arts will accept letters of intent throughout the year until September 15. These should be no longer than two-page narratives defining the process, goals, and the impact of the endeavor, accompanied by a budget outlining how the grant funds will be used. The letter of intent can be submitted electronically to Mark Becker. By October 1, 3Arts will contact all applicants and invite a full proposal from a selection of them. The longer, more detailed, and invitation-only proposals will be due on November 15. Special Projects recipient(s) will be announced each March. Please contact Mark Becker, Associate Director, at 312-443-9621 if you wish to discuss your request.
